Tim Gomez called his Aunt Maria to thank her for the piñata. In the course of the conversation, he told the story about Encyclopedia saving the day after Bugs stole the gift. Aunt Maria didn’t seem to ask if any adults punished Bugs. Instead, she told Tim she wanted to reward Encyclopedia and that he should expect another package, one bigger than the last one.
I hope, for Tim’s sake, that she didn’t send this package postage due, like she did for his present. That would be pretty messed up.
A few days later, Tim showed up at the Brown Detective Agency dragging the heavy box to Encyclopedia. The note inside said that it was an instant party kit so that he could throw a party for Mexican Independence Day. In the box was also six Mexican flags and six “Mexican hats” (I’m assuming they mean sombreros), and some recipes for a party – all they needed was the food.
What kind of reward was that? To thank him for getting the piñata back to Tim, Aunt Maria was giving Encyclopedia some long-distance passive-aggressive pressure to throw a party. How shitty is that?
